NHS Updates for Bath, North East Somerset, and Swindon

We’re excited to announce that Complete Fertility Centre is now able to offer fertility treatments for NHS patients from Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire! This new opportunity brings hope to many who may be seeking support in their journey to start or grow their families.

Eligibility Criteria for NHS Patients

It’s important to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements set out for NHS-funded fertility treatments in these regions. Here's what you need to know:

1. Age Restrictions for Female Partner:

  • The female partner must be aged between 25 and 39. Treatment can begin at any time after the 25th birthday but must commence no later than 18 weeks before the 40th birthday.

2. Age Restrictions for Male Partner:

  • The male partner must be under 55 years of age.

3. Previous IVF/ICSI Cycles:

  • If either partner has undergone 3 or more previous IVF/ICSI cycles, whether NHS or privately funded, they will not be eligible for further NHS funding.

4. Eligibility Based on Children:

  • Funding is available to patients who do not have a living child from their current relationship, and where either partner does not have a living child from a previous relationship.

5. Sub-Fertility Due to Sterilization:

  • Fertility treatments are not available if the sub-fertility is a result of a sterilization procedure for either partner.

6. Infertility Duration:

  • For couples with unexplained fertility, infertility must have persisted for at least 2 years before treatment is considered.

7. BMI Requirements:

  • Women must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 19-30 for at least 6 months before treatment.

8. Smoking:

  • Both partners must be non-smokers for a minimum of 6 months prior to treatment.

9. Alcohol Consumption:

  • Both partners must assure that their alcohol intake aligns with the Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.

10. Same-Sex Couples:

  • Same-sex couples must demonstrate infertility and have undergone a minimum of 10 verified IUI cycles before being considered for fertility treatment.

11. Stable Relationship:

  • Both partners must be in a stable relationship for at least 2 years.
