Highly experienced in helping same sex couples to have a baby

Here at Complete Fertility Centre we are known for helping same sex couples, as well as single women and heterosexual couples to have a baby.

In recent years our centre has seen a substantial increase in the number of same sex couples seeking fertility treatment. So it’s no surprise to us figures from the HFEA show that the number of same sex female couples receiving treatment (whether IVF or DI) has significantly risen year on year, with 1324 female patients registered with a female partner receiving fertility treatment using donated gametes in 2013.

Complete Fertility Centre welcomes same sex couples to our centre every day. We are highly experienced in helping lesbian couples to have a baby through IVF or IUI using donor sperm. We have a large quality sperm bank for our patients who require donor sperm and patients can choose their sperm donor based on their physical characteristics, employment, education and hobbies. All sperm donors are rigorously screened.

Patient care is our primary concern at Complete Fertility Centre. As such we offer a free and confidential counselling service to patients considering using donor sperm to allow them to explore the implications of this treatment. Our Counsellors offer support throughout our patient’s fertility journey.

Same sex women have the following choices of fertility treatment:

• Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) with donor sperm. Specially prepared sperm are placed directly into the womb at the time when eggs are being released. Production of eggs may be helped by the use of fertility drugs if necessary. Around the time of ovulation, the most motile sperm will be used for insemination.
• In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) with donor sperm. IVF involves removing the eggs from the ovaries and fertilising them with sperm in a laboratory dish before placing them back in the woman’s womb.
• Egg sharing IVF with donor sperm. This offers reduced cost IVF for same sex women who share half of their eggs with another woman who would not be able to try for a baby without this donation.
