Answers to your fertility questions
How long should I wait before seeking help?
Infertility is when a couple cannot conceive despite having regular unprotected sex.
Around one in six couples may have difficulty conceiving. This is approximately 3.5 million people in the UK.
Some women get pregnant quickly but for others it can take longer. It is a good idea to visit your GP is you haven't conceived after one year of trying.
If you're over the age of 36, or you are already aware you may have fertility problems, you should see your GP sooner. Your GP can check for common causes of fertility problems and can refer you on to a fertility centre if required.
A couple will only be diagnosed as being infertile if they have not managed to have a baby after one year of trying.
You can get a comprehensive picture of your fertility health to help with family planning anytime at Complete Fertility with our fertility check.
How soon can I be seen?
Private patients can self-refer and will normally be seen by a Consultant within 2 weeks. If you would like to be seen on the NHS we would need a letter of referral from your GP. You will then be seen within 6 to 8 weeks. Book an appointment.
Can I get help with costs for my fertility treatment?
Complete Fertility offers one NHS funded fresh cycle of IVF or ICSI to eligible couples who live in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. This includes appropriate fertility diagnostic investigations and scans, ovulation induction, egg retrieval, fertilisation and implantation. Couples living outside these areas may still be eligible for NHS funded treatment at Complete Fertility. Contact us for more information on eligibility criteria.
Private patients benefit from our fixed price packages with no hidden costs.
Who will I see throughout my treatment?
Team consistency is something we value very highly at Complete Fertility. You will initially see one of our expert consultants. Our nursing team are here to help and support you throughout your fertility journey and patients are assigned a personal fertility nurse specialist to help at every stage. We also offer one free counselling session in our IVF, ICSI & IUI packages and two free counselling sessions in our treatment packages for patients using donor sperm and for egg recipients.
We are known for our friendly, open and honest approach so why not come and see for yourself and meet the team by booking in for our informal, free open evenings?
